SATURDAY 7TH AUGUST - THE DUBAI DUTY FREE SHERGAR CUP FAMILY DAY

Racing Summary
The Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup is Britain's only jockeys' competition, where teams of riders from all over the world compete over six races for the coveted trophy. The teams are Great Britain, Ireland, Europe and Rest of the World – a new format introduced in 2007 and attracting a record crowd.
The day is easy for everyone to follow and on this unique occasion you get the chance to meet the jockeys taking part and get their autograph in the racecard. This will take place before racing in the Parade Ring.

Fairground Rides will include: Waltzer, Sizzler, paratrooper, inflatable slide, inflatable dome and toy ride. We will also have hair braiders and temporary tattoo artists to keep the children entertained.
Back by popular demand we have a 2 hour live ‘80s concert in the Old Paddock after racing featuring The 'Here & Now' Tour. The artistes line up is:

  • Belinda Carlise
  • Johnny Hates Jazz
  • Midge Ure
  • Captain Sensible
  • Cutting Crew

The concert will begin at about 5.45pm for a two hour set and each artist will play their all time classic hits.

Colts & Fillies Exclusive Activities
Cheerleader Workshops – the children will learn a routine and then perform the dance in the Parade Ring with the Cheerleaders after the closing ceremony

Football Skills Workshops – the children will have the chance to learn ball skills with qualified coaches.

Places in the workshops are allocated on a first come first served basis subject to availability.  To reserve a place on one of the workshops please send your name and age to coltsandfillies@ascot.co.uk under the subject heading Cheerleading or Football.

SUNDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER: FAMILY FUN DAY

Racing Summary
The racing on Sunday features the £100,000 Group Two John Guest Diadem Stakes is an important end of season sprint and attracts the calibre of horses that have been running it Group One Company through the season. It is supported by the Group Three Grosvenor Casinos Cumberland Lodge Stakes over a mile and a half.

Entertainment Summary

Our third Family Day is one for young and old alike with a series of fun activities to see and do all around the racecourse.

We will have a creative workshop in the Pavilion with the chance to paint a giant horse and a make and do area where you can take your creation home.  You will be able to get your face painted by our team of artists and enjoy the fairground rides which include Tea Cups, Inflatable Slide, Paratrooper Ride, Flying Chairs, Toy Ride and Formula 2000.

Mr Alexander's will be performing his travelling show throughout the afternoon. This is a lively and exciting 20min show featuring magic, juggling, uni-cycling and illusion. Not to be missed!

Ascot Brass will also be playing on the Bandstand throughout the day.

SATURDAY 30th OCTOBER - UNITED HOUSE DAY FEATURING A FIREWORK SPECTACULAR FAMILY DAY

Racing Summary
Ascot's first meeting of the new 2010 / 2011 Jumps Season features the £100,000 United House Gold Cup Chase over three miles. The Byrne Group Handicap Chase and the competitive William Hill Handicap Hurdle over two miles are the key supporting races.

Entertainment Summary
Following racing Ascot presents a Charity Firework Event in association with Ascot Round Table and Ascot Rotary Club. All racegoers buying a ticket to the racing are welcome to stay for the show.

There will be rides open all day on the Plaza Lawns these include:
Dodgems, a carousel, Ghost Train, Walter, children’s slide, tea- cups, Formula 2000 and a Paratrooper ride. These will be free of charge, available all day. These will close when the firework begin.

There will also be 3 balloon artists creating animal sculptures throughout the afternoon.

Gates open at 10.45am. Approx Race Times - First Race 12.45pm and last Race 4.15pm.  Fireworks start at 6pm. Last Admission and any re-admission advised before 4pm. Timings to be confirmed.

The Round Table are also selling firework only tickets where people can arrive up to the start of the fireworks at 6pm. These are only available through the Round Table website and along the shops at Ascot High Street.

Children aged 17 and under have free admission for racing but not for the fireworks only ticket.

Bars and food outlets and fairground rides will all remain open. Candy floss and toffee apples are available all day from the Plaza kiosks.

Colts & Fillies Exclusive Activities
After racing we have plenty to keep the kids entertained until the fireworks begin. There will be a Halloween themed BBQ for all Colts & Fillies members in the Bandstand Restaurant (pre-booked event). The food will be accompanied by a magician, balloon sculpture and juggler there won’t be time to fit all the excitement in before the fireworks begin.

SATURDAY 18TH DECEMBER - THE BGC CHRISTMAS RACEDAY FAMILY DAY

Racing Summary
Ascot's most valuable day of Jumps racing, featuring the Grade 1 £100,000 BGC Long Walk Hurdle.
The Long Walk is Ascot’s highest quality hurdle race, and has fallen previously no less than three times to the great Baracouda, who was trained in France by Francois Doumen.
The £150,000 “Ladbroke” is Europe’s richest handicap hurdle. The race has thrived since moving to Ascot from Leopardstown and is often the scene of an exciting showdown between English and Irish horses.

Entertainment Summary
Off the track join in the festive fun and meet Father Christmas himself in our Winter Wonderland Grotto. At the BGC Christmas Raceday there is a lot to see and do. Visit Father Christmas in his Grotto where there will be a gift waiting for everyone that has been good this year! (The first 450 children will receive a present).
To make the day truly festive why not take a ride on the fairground or have your faces painted with a festive motif by one of Santa’s elves. After racing join us for a collection of Christmas Carols in the Grandstand. The festive sing-a-long begins 20 minutes after the last race where a Christmas Carol sheet will be provided.
